Ex England captain, and star Mid-fielder David Beckham is finding it hard to return to the International scene to get his 100th Cap for England. After being sidelined for the match against Switzerland earlier this month due to fitness issues, he has admitted he might not be able to prove match fitness for England vs France.
“I’ve no match fitness,” said Beckham, who will be playing for LA Galaxy in Korea this Saturday. “All I’ve done is training”
“I would love to reach the 100 caps, but I have to be physically ready to be part of the team.”
Who wouldn’t want to reach 100 caps!
Beckham, who has been playing under current England manager, Fabio Capello while playing for Real Madrid says that knows how the boss would be selecting the team which plays France.
“I’ve played for Capello before, and he’s a great manager,” Beckham said.
“He is a manager that will pick players that are fit enough. I understand he selected others who played more games.”
This would be Capello’s second match as England manager after wining his first one against Switzerland 2-1 on February 6th.
Nothing can be said of yet as Beck still has alot of chances to prove his fitness as his club, LA Galaxy begin their pre-season buildup with an Asian tour. With his second season in MLS, the midfielder said: “We’re still two weeks into our pre-season and fitness wise, we’re getting there slowly.”
