Liverpool’s defender Jamie Carragher was arrested on Tuesday morning. The former English defender and the vice captain of Liverpool was arrested and cautioned for common assault.
Carragher was on his way to training at Liverpool’s Melwood ground when the incident occurred. An eye witness reported Merseyside Police that the vice-captain of Reds was arguing with a man. Later that day, the apparent victim reported to the police when Carragher was called for a formal interview. He accepted his caution which in the “eyes of law” shows Carragher is guilty.
Merseyside Police spokesman said: “We can confirm that a 30-year-old man from the Blundellsands area received a police caution for common assault in relation to an incident on Liverpool Road, Crosby, on Tuesday February 26.”
Common assault is the lowest form of assault and can include anything from spitting to shoving.
