Steven Gerrard and Rafa BenitezThe captain of Reds, Steven Gerrard finally showed his concern about the performance of the club. He is ashamed of Liverpool’s English Premier League (EPL) failure. He revealed his concern about the Red’s standing in EPL to his boss Rafa Benitez.

Rafa Benitez says that he shares Steven Gerrard’s frustration at their failure to mount a serious title challenge this season.

Bentiz said: “You don’t get any prizes for finishing in second place — never mind fourth — in football. I don’t think the fans would accept it as an accomplishment and, for me; it’s not nearly good enough. In the position we find ourselves in, fourth is the least that is acceptable between now and May — but we have bigger ambitions than that. I still believe we have the squad to be a hell of a lot more competitive than we are right now. I’m a Liverpool fan and I believe the league is the most important trophy going. We are still in the Champions League and our record in that competition is one that most other clubs would envy. And we are still confident of finishing in the top four, which would obviously mean we would qualify for next season’s Champions League again.”
