David Beckham: I’m ready for England
Beckham was a high-profile absentee from new coach Fabio Capello’s first squad, for England’s 2-1 win over Switzerland. But Capello made it clear at the time that Beckham’s exclusion was entirely due to match fitness and that the LA Galaxy player would be able to stake his claim for future squads.
The Italian has now suggested that Beckham, 32, is in contention to face France in Paris, and play the 100th game and get that cap.

Maldini willing to play another Season!!
AC Milan captain Paolo Maldini may rethink his decision to retire at the end of this season and continue playing for another year with the Serie A team.
“I have still a lot of energy,” the 39-year-old defender said in an interview with Italy’s Sky TV on Thursday.
Maldini also added that he is being pushed alot to play another season. But the decision will be made if his physical condition remains good.
However, Maldini ruled out a return to Italy’s national team for the Euro 2008 soccer championship. He retired from the “Azzurri” after the 2002 World Cup with 126 caps.
Arsenal Down Under

LONDON, March 7 - Arsenal will be without midfielder Abou Diaby and forward Theo Walcott and also Eduardo (who is ruled out for more than 9 months) for the Sunday’s trip to Wigan Athletic. Diaby injured his calf in the 2-0 Champions League win over AC Milan on Tuesday, while Walcott picked up a thigh injury on Thursday, the club said on their Web site (www.arsenal.com).
With second-placed Manchester United and third-placed Chelsea in FA Cup action, victory would put Arsenal four points clear.
Javier Mascherano not Fit to play important Matches
The Argentine midfield orchestrator, who just recently signed a permanent deal with the Reds, will definitely be forced to sit out the league match against Newcastle this weekend, and his manager has now admitted that he may not recover from the injury he sustained against West Ham in time for the trip to Milan.
“I will need to speak to the doctors before we decide about Inter but he will not be available this weekend against Newcastle,” said Rafa Benitez on Liverpool’s official website.
