Oliver Kahn, Bayern Munich’s captain, returned in the clash with Karlsruhe, the club where Kahn started his career. The sentiments he’ll have for his old club is snatching the 3 crucial points for Bayern Munich.
The wall of Germany is saying good-bye to football at the end of this season on May 17.
About his retirement, Kahn says that he see things differently. He is happy to finally leave the football field. He is delighted with his performance and it was supposed to end someday.
Oliver Kahn’s landmark achievements:
- In 548 Bundesliga matches he has kept 194 clean-sheets.
- Captain of Germany in World cup 2002 and reached to final against Brazil.
- Captain of Germany in Euro 1996 and won in England.
- With Bayern Munich, won seven times the Bundesliga, the German Cup five times, plus the Champions League title in 2001 and the UEFA Cup in 1996.
- World’s Best Goalkeeper in 1999, 2001 and 2002, plus runner-up as FIFA’s Best Footballer of the Year in 2002.
