Three big English clubs, three upsets! This weekend is known as the biggest upset for the clubs in the FA Cup final eight!

This Saturday, Manchester United was up against Portsmouth in the FA cup quarter final match. Manchester United dominated almost the whole match but Portsmouth keeper, David James, and the defense line were simply remarkable.
On 78th minute, Portsmouth turned the game upside down on the other side of the match, when Sulley Muntari scores on a penalty kick. The penalty kick was awarded to Portsmouth when Milan Bros was brought to the ground by Manchester United keeper, Tomasz Kuszczak. Kuszczak, who already replaced injured Edwin van der Sar was, straight away given red card. Rio Ferdinand, the central defensive wall of Manchester united had to wear the keeper gloves for the rest of the match. Manchester United was unable level it with 10 men in just 10 minutes remaining.

The second upset on that day was when Chelsea was beaten by a Championship league team, Barnsley. Barnsley already shocked the world when the beat Liverpool in FA cup knockout round. Barnsley striker, Carlo Cudicini brought his side to lead in 66th minute when he scored his first goal in last 6 months.
The Nigerian striker, Kayode Odejayi, said after his side beat Chelsea: “We’ve knocked out Liverpool and knocked out Chelsea, so who knows, it could be our year.”

In the Premier league, news wasn’t much better for the English football giants. This time, Arsenal was facing Wigan Athelatic in Premier league match on Sunday. The home side, Wigan Athelatic, was superb with their defense against the London Gunners. Arsenal attacked a lot in the match, but Wigan’s goalkeeper, Chris Kirkland, was at his best. In the end, Arsenal drawed their third match in a row, loosing to crucial points for the League number one position. Manchester United has a game in hand, and a win can bring them to the top.
