Newcastle down under!!

Kevin KeeganAccording to today’s Premiere league standings New Castle United are the sixth last team and now they have to work very hard to avoid relegation.

Newcastle defender Steven Taylor has called on his teammates to start showing some passion if they wanna survive in the English Premiere League. Its not only the players but the manager, Kevin Keegan has yet to win a game in his second spell at the Toon.

Kevin also said : “We have players who have played in all kinds of situations.

“We have players who have played in the Champions League and the World Cup.

“We have to make that show and every one of the final nine games is a massive game for us now.”

Agger to miss rest of Reds season

AggerThe Denmark international, 23, will undergo surgery on his troublesome foot injury early next week after being sidelined since September. Its is said that he is facing an metatarsal injury.

“It’s a blow for Daniel but we want to get his problem sorted,” Rafa Benitez told the club’s official website.

“We have defensive cover and Martin Skrtel is playing very well, Daniel will be back for next season.”

Agger has only played six games for Liverpool this season and his absence is a blow for the club who have key games coming up in both the Premier League and, most notably, the Champions League.

Lampard and Drogba urged to leave Chelsea

Drogba and LampardBarca playmaker Ronaldinho has openly admitted he would welcome Frank Lampard at the Nou Camp with open arms, while Roma captain Francesco Totti claims he will fly to London himself if it means luring Didier Drogba to Italy.

Lampard has yet to sign a new contract at Chelsea - his current deal expires in 2009 - and the 29-year-old has publically expressed his frustration that talks remain at such a preliminary stage.

Drogba is almost certain to leave Stamford Bridge at the end of the season after admitting he is unsettled with the Blues. Drogba has long been linked with a move away from London, with Barca, Real Madrid, Juventus and AC Milan all expressing an interest in the Ivory Coast international.

One player definitely not going anywhere is Ricardo Carvalho, who is on the verge of signing a new four-year deal.

Letting go of Lampard and Drogba would that be beneficial for the club?
